Studio M:A:D – Making Architectural Design

Professional profile
In the continuing spirit of Making we are pre-occupied with introducing skills to develop and articulate architectural design, promoting new and interesting methods and tools for students, encouraging a personalapproach appropriate to each individual student. The aim is to move from diagram into design andfabrication of space through various, introduced methodologies where making is essential.

M.A.D focus upon architectures intimate scale such as component design, system design, pre-fabrication,customisation, interior and furniture design, and daylight and artificial lighting conditions.

The studio dealswith development of certain architectural qualities and spatial formations, where building components,furniture and out- fitting systems are examined in relation to industrial shape, formation processes and system tectonics.

The studio semesters are organized to create a professional structure for the individual training ofcandidates, based on similar technical skills. Thus, employing all areas including the development of professional communicative principles and dissemination of information, visualizations, photos and videomaterial, as well as brand development and value creation. Within the areas of competence, the focus isa progressive development of a number of different, however complementary architectural and design skills.

The studio areas of competence reflect the research- and staffing platform, the staffing composition including visiting guests.
