 The pace of change is as fast as the discovery of climate changes. We now know that the conventional energy solutions of today will not work for the future. There is a need for innovation - a need for radical energy efficient solutions to meet the real needs of tomorrow. There is a need for a new energy mindset. Radical efficient solutions are presently being discovered and more are on their way. The 'Passive House Concept' provides a factor 10 energy improvement within the household energy consumption, compared to normal standarts, and on a sustainable economic basis. The 'Plus Energy Concept' presents buildings which produce rather that consume energy. A radical use of energy saving technology must be combined with focus on architecture and context, adding value for the user and owner of the building, and the society in general. MEGA is an education for the future. MEGA students will acquire the best available knowledge within energy effiency in buildings, renewable energy supply, architecture, planning, business development as well as intercultural understanding. |
